Bedroom Inspiration..

While we are finishing up our bedroom I thought I would post some inspiration I have gathered from around the web.. (am I the only one who saves 100's of pictures onto my computer so I can look at them later.. and dream... yeah? that's weird? ok.. moving on)  

you may notice a lot of white and grey.. those seem to be the colors I keep coming back to lately.. and while I doubt my house will ever actually look like these they are so fun to look at.. enjoy!

Weekend Recap

we had a very good but very busy weekend.. 

here are some pictures of what went down :) 

the bump is growing!

we found a cute chandelier for the bedroom.. on clearance!
and.. Des got a hair cut, this was the before :)

scored really well on a test for school! yay!

thanksgiving groceries took over the kitchen..

...and became yummy thanksgiving food!

we had a team come all the way from Enschede
to help us out on Saturday.. and it was an awesome time!

 I didn't get a pic of him..
but I did get one of the "zwarte piet"

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I have lived here in NL now for more than three years and have pretty much adjusted to everything... except on this day every year. Thanksgiving. when I get a tiny bit homesick and wish it was a holiday here too.

I just think it is the most wonderful thing to have a day to stop and just realize how much we really have to be thankful for! 

So I continue to celebrate it anyways :) 

This year will be the first time that Desmond and I will just have it with the two of us but I'm still looking forward to it! Since I'm working today we will do it tomorrow.. and I won't do a whole turkey but I will make all our favorite sides and probably eat too much and enjoy the leftovers for a couple days!

And I am taking time to stop and think about all the wonderful things God has done and is going to do in our lives.. He is just so good and faithful! 

and has blessed us beyond what we could deserve or even imagine..

Bedroom Before

When I last posted.. (really.. September.. *cough, cough*.. moving on) I had mentioned that Des and I were starting a bedroom makeover... 

we hit ikea.. we got a new bedspread.. and curtains.. and fun stuff.. 

AND here we are 3 months later still somewhere between the before and after. :)

We have made some progress but along the way (when we found out baby was coming and we would be staying here for a while) we decided to do more than just spruce up. So in the next couple weeks Des will be painting (when I'm away for a couple nights) and we will rearrange all the furniture so that a crib and other baby things will fit.. 

the room is very small and so we are going to have to be creative to figure out how to fit everything and get some more storage.. 

we aren't done yet but we are excited to see how it will turn out! So for now some before pics :) 

(because the room is so small its hard to get good pictures of.. there is also a dresser at the foot of the bed.. but i can't seem to find any pictures with that in them)

we got this for just 20 euros and until now it was the place for all my "stuff"

well.. because its boring :)

Exciting News..

Its been quite a while since I have posted (again...) there has been a lot going on for us lately.. A LOT.. but I'll be putting some of that on here over the next few weeks! 

The biggest thing is totally awesome. and life changing. and a little scary once in a while.. 

that little baby is in my belly.. wow.. 

we are so excited and feel so, so blessed!
